OAMARU HOSPITAL.
A meeting of the Committee of the above institution was held last evening at the Secretary's office. There were present—Messrs. Booth (in the chair), Brown, Townsend, Steward, Mainland, M'lntosh, J. Paterson, and Morris. MINUTES, BTO. The minutes of last meeting Mere read and confirmed, and the outward correspondence was read and approved. AUDITING THE ACCOUNTS The Seer, tary was directed to write to the Auditors pointing out the necessity for the immediate auditing of the ac-
counts, in order .to allow of the usual return for subsidy being' furnished to the Government. REPORT OF VISITING COMMITTEE. The-following report was read : Your Committee have the honour to report that they have visited the Hospital daring the month, and found everything in connection with the institution in satisfactory order. The new "Warder, Mr. Thomson,"entered upon his duties on.the Ist of August, and it is fairly to be anticipated that lie and; Mrs. Thomson will satisfactorily fill tVie positions of Warder and Matron. Mr." Towiisend, on behalf of your Committee, in company with the Secretary, saw Mr. Thomson installed, and on that occasion took a complete inventory of goods and chattels belonging to the institution; and the Medical superintendent has promised to make out a list of surgical instruments on hand. The number of patients in the Hospital at present is seven—six of whom are males, and one female. These, on being questioned, had no complaint to make. Preparations are being made to have the garden ground planted with seasonable vegetables. The annexed is a statement of accounts to be passed for payment. F. H. Townsend, Thomas Morris, William M-Ixtosh. Oamaru, 21st August, 1577. ADVERTISING. It was resolved that the advertising of subscription-lists should be divided between the two local papers. ACCOUNTS. Accounts to the amount of L 45 17s 7d were passed for payment. TENDERS FOR SUPPLIES. The following tenders for six months' supplies were read : Milk.—Jane Marshall Black, 4d per quart (accepted). Andrew Gray, 4d per quart. Coal (Newcastle). James Bee, L2 17s 6d (accepted). E. B. Pearce, L 3. Funerals. —George Grenfell, L 4 7s 6d (accepted). John Thompson, L 4 10s. Butchers' Meat. —Norman Lane, 4d per lb. J. and H. Fry, 4d per lb (accepted). Medical Comforts. —Tenders for the supply of these were received from Messrs. Spence and Bee, James Bee, and Samuel Humphrey. Messrs. Spence and Bee's tender was accepted. Groceries. —Five tenders were received, viz., from Messrs. Spence and Bee, James Bee, Familton, Daniel Booth, and Bailiie and Humphrey. The tender of Messrs. Spence and Bee was accepted, it being th'.- lov.- sS t. .. •'SITING COMMITTEE. jk..ss;=.
