AUCKLAND.
TRADES DEMONSTRATION. August 6. Among the resolutions passed by the unemployed was one for the stoppage of free immigration. The Trade and Labour Council, composed of delegates of the various Trade Societies, have determined to call a public meeting in support of the agitation of the Dunedin artizans in favour of the material required for railways being manufactured in the Colony. The City Council took on forty men at day labour to-day.
