(PER ZEALANDIA AT AUCKLAND.) Melbourne. It was stated in the General Assembly that the loss incurred in working the national railways was over a million sterling in five years. The extensive carrying firm of William M'Culloch and Co. has been dissolved, and remodelled. The retiring partners receive Li 00,000 each. Breadstuiis, iirm ; 2~0 tuns flour have been sold for shipment at ]o guineas. A San Fr.incisco telegram of July 17th says wheat has advanced one shilling per bushel since the mail L-ffc. The next steamer for the colonies has only 100 tons Hour. Hong Kong telegrams, dated July 21st state that the steamer Bowen sailed on the lOtli of August. Common teas are cheaper. An American telegram points to a further advance i:i kerosene, owing to a combination of the manufacturers. Brisbane. The Royal assent has been given to the Public Worship Regulation Bill. Newcastle. The Associated Miners are considering the question of reduction of wages which is alleged to be imperative through the lower price of coal adopted by the six collieries. The seamen of the s.s. Lord Ashley, refused to go to sea, alleging that the vessel Avas over loaded. The Marine Board, aftjr examination, supported the crew's objection, and the steamer had to discharge thirty tons of coal.
