The Russian forces have crossed the Balkans at Aron Gate Pass, and reached Jambole. July 28. The ship Zealandia from London to Wellington, put into Rio Janeiro, badly damaged by collision. The Herald's special says :—lt is believed the crisis of the war is imminent. The rapid advance of the Russians into Adrianople is expected, in consequence of the defeat of Sulieman Pasha. The advanced guard is at Rarabunas, and Sulieman Pasha remains at Adrianople. The Turkish troops are evacuating «Phillipopolis. The gravest fears are entertained that the Christians in Stamboul will be massacred, and the Consuls are appealing to the Powers to intervene.
