MAN CRUSHED TO DEATH.

A man named William Gamble was crushed lo death a Tairua by a boulder rolling down hill on him. Mr. Binney reports :—Flour (Oamaru), Ll7; do (Dunedin and Christchurch), Ll6 10 ; do (Oalifornian), Ll7 5s ; bran, Lslos ; pollard, L 7, bags included ; oats, 3s 8d to 3s lOd ; maize, 3s lOd to 4s ; oalmeal, L2l 10s; pearl barley, L 2 4; ham, 8d ; bacon, 9d ; butter, 9d ; cheese, 7tkl ; potatoes, L 3 15s. The market is full of all kinds of produce. Trade is quiet. Mr. Buckland reports :—Fat steers, 27s ; cows, secondary, 24s per lOOlbs ; fat heifers, 23s ; calves, mixed sexes, 38s to 535. Shares :—buyers—National Bank, 70s ; South British, old, 81s. SellersBank of New Zealand, L 22 10s. Mining sales to day—Caledonian, L 4 10s ; Moanatari, L 7 12s 6d ; Waitekuri, 12s 9d ; Alburnia, 58s ; Kuranui, 20s; Piako, 10s.
