DEATH FROM SCALDING. July 26. The City Council have resolved to push on various works, in order to give work to the unemployed. Geo. Brown lias died at Rotorua from the effects of the scalding, particulars of which were telegraphed yesterday. An iron steamer, built at Hawkewood's foundry, has made a most successful trial trip. Messrs. Gouk and Gordon's tender of LI4OO, for the repair of the s.s. Go-a-head, has been accepted.
