ANOTHER LOAN FLOATED. July 18. In the cise of Smythies v. the Bank of Now Zealand, the jury found for the ijlaiutiff with L3OO damages. In the case of Pritchard v. the Dunedin Corporation, arising out of a fill of :arth iu Rattray-street during a flood, LGOOO damages are claimed. The case is jxpected to last several days, as over GO .vitnessi s are to be ex m nxl. An inquest was held to-day on the body of the ciiild found in the porch of St. Joseph's Church a fortnight ago. A verdict of died from natural causes was returned. Tne Invercargill Municipality have received advice of the floating of their LIS.OOO loan at L 93.
