MR. BASTINGS RETURNED FOR WAIPORI RIDING. MRS. REID'S TRIAL. GOVERNMENT RESOLUTION AS REGARDS MAIN LINES OF RAILWAY. July 13. Mr. Bastings has been returned for the Waipori Riding by a majority of seven. In Mrs. Reid's case, the medical evidence will occupy the whole of to-day's sitting. It is doubtful if the case will conclude to-morrow. lie Kaitangata railway, the Government have replied that they cannot cumply, as they have determined upon completing the main lines as a first work.
