CAPTAIN RUSSELL AND HIS CONSTITUENTS. July 12. Captain Russell, member for Napier, addressed a large meeting of his constituents last evening. He reviewed the Acts of last session, and explained liis reasons for going Home before tiie end of the session. He said he would support the Ministry ; was in favour of compulsory education, but approved of the Government subsidising Denominational Schools, though he wished religious teaching to be included in certain hours. A vote of confidence was unanimously passed.
