CHRISTCHURCH.
RAILWAY GOODS TARIFF. July 12. At a meeting of the Agricultural and Pastoral Association, this afternoon, the new goods tariff on the railway was discussed at great length. Several speakers spoke strongly against it. It was resolved to employ a qualified person to make a comparative statement of charges under the old and new tariffs.
Applications for shares in the Union Insurance Company are coming in very rapidly.
