ABANDONMENT OF AN INFANT. THE MARKETS. June 23. In the Police Court to-day, Bridget Ryan, a domestic servant, was charged with having- abandoned her infant child in the Catholic Church on Sunday night last. The case was remanded.
Produce wholesale prices are quoted as follows :—Wheat, 5s 6d to 7s (one transaction reported at 8s) ; oats, 3s 6d to 3s 9d ; barley, 3s 61 to 4s 6d ; bran, L 4 15s; flour, Ll9 to Ll9 10s ; oatmeal, L2O ; potatoes, L 3 10s. Mr. J. B. Bradshaw reports the following :— Bank of New Zealand shares, L 22
7s 6d ; National Bank, L 3 *Lls ; Colonial Bank, L2 6s; National Insurance, LI 15s ; South British Insurance, L 5 ; Standard, 17s ; Mosgiel Woollen Factory, L 3 10s. ■ ♦
