DEFEAT OF THE RUSSIANS. London, June 27
Turkish despatches state that the Turkish commander of the forces in Asia Minor attacked and completely defeated the Russians at Batoum. The Russians have commenced to bombard Rustchuk, the Turkish guns replying vigorously.
Singapore, June 26, 11.45. Tulcha has been evacuated. The Turks retreated in good order to Pirsora.
The British Government, relying on the assurance of Russia, do not contemplate protecting the Suez Canal. There has been severe fighting at Delabeta. The Russians fell back on Zeadakim.f?) An amendment has been moved in the French Senate for a dissolution for three months.
