BOMBARDMENT OF KARS
ABANDONMENT OF DOBRUDSCHA London, June 25.
The bombardment of the northern forts of Kars still continues. A sortie was made but repulsed. The Kurds have invested Bayazid.
It is believed to be the intention of the Turks to abandon Dobrudscha, but to make a firm stand at Trajan's wall. The Porte dissents from England's view regarding the propriety of neutralising the Canal while refusing belligerent Powers permission to erect necessary works for protection against the enemy. St. John's, New Brunswick, has been almost destroyed by fire. The damage is estimated at about fifteen million dollars.
Bayazid has been lecaptured by the Turks.
The French Senate have adopted the proposal for a dissolution.
Singapore, June 25, 12 "13. The Cabinet in Council has resolved to ask credit for cautionary preparations. Six thousand Russians are crossing at Galatz. The Turks under Matchin are retiring. A despatch from Gortschakoff states that Russia does not intend acquiring Stamboul. ♦
