"NO ADVANCE IN PRICES."

TO THE EDITOR OF THE EVENING MAIL. Sir,—As a rule I am not a very captions individual, and decidedly object to fault finding ; but one little matter lias come under my notice that I think attention should be called to. By an advertisement in your paper I observe that we are to be favoured with a visit from the Georgia Minstrels, or, " the American Slave Troupe," as they are announced, with an evident desire to enlist sympathy. Now, it is not this part of the business that I object to, for they are perfectly at liberty to be slaves or call themselves snch for all I care. "SVhat I do complain of is the line in the advertisement "No advance in prices." This is a flagrant falsehood. There is a very decided advance, the prices fixed for a view of these "slaves "are 55., 35., and 2s. Why the pr.'.'es have been raised from the ruling r.r■•■-; f know not : but perhaps it is became "he <aembei*s of the company are p■ of the real " black blood." If ti « reason for the increased rates c: ...-sission, I think a mistake has been r.vi . I do not see why I should be c-iii i upon to pay five shillings to see a Uo;.[ •:- of "coloured slaves," when for three of four shillings I can witness the performances of white freemen. 1 think our coloured brethren have made a mistake. If what I hear is correct, the troupe is no better, if they are even as ;ood, as many which have appeared here, md charged lower prices of admission. I am, &c, A Poor Max.
