[from our own correspondents.] _ » DUNEDIN. DEATH OF MR. SMAILL. MR. BASTINGS BEFORE HIS CONSTITUENTS. June 25. Mr. Smaill, one of the founders of the Mosgiel Woollen Factory, died at Nelson while on his way to the Hot Springs for the benefit of his health.
Mr. Bastings addressed his constituents at Tapanui on Saturday night and received a warm vote of confidence. He intimated his intention of again moving iii the matter of the Waipahee railway. The Mayor has promised to call a public meeting re railway construction next week.
