CHARLESTON.

FRAGMENTS OF WRECKS. June 18. Some kauri boards, a portion of two vessels about 30 tons, have been picked up on the Nine-mile Beach ; also a piece of the bulwark, with the half of the letter " K " in yellow paint, and the brass box of a binnacle compass, still fast to the upper deck of the cabin ; two pieces of the other vessel having painted chromecoloured letters five inches long and one wide, " Kaikoura, Wei," the other giving the termination of the name only. The beach is strewn with small fragments of the wrecks, which probably occurred on Friday or Saturday. One vessel was apparently new—copper or composite nails being used in its construction.
