Bombay, June 17, 1.24 a.m. The statement re Sulieman Pasha having forced the Dugar Pass, is unconfirmed. After desperate fighting, the result was undecisive ; both parties maintained their position. A Russian official despatch states that the Turks endeavoured to counteract the siege work at Kars by frequent sorties in force. June 18. Arrived—Petrarch, Skylark, and Coomassie. It is semi-officially stated that Schouvaloff only brought over disavowals of any designs on Egypt or the Suez Canal. The Republican party in the French Chamber has resolved not to vote the Budget.
