CITIZENS' BALL.
Christchurch, June 12,
The citizens' ball last night was verysuccessful. It was held in the Provincial Council Chamber and Library. Upwards of 200 persons were present, including his Excellency the Governor, the Hon. C. C. Bowen, and the principal residents in the city and neighbourhood. The Governor opened the ball with Mrs. Rolleston, the Mayoress having declined the honour.
