ENGINEER FOR DRAINAGE.
Wellington, June 11.
The City Council passed a resolution to-day, by 7 to 3, that Mr. Climie be appointed engineer to carry out the drainage scheme, and Mr. Blackett consulting engineer ; if Mr. Blackett be not available, then Mr. Napier Bell be requested to act; a committee of the whole Council to meet Mr. Climie and discus 3 terms. The motion re dismissal of officials will be further considered at a special meeting next Monday.
