The Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report as follows, under date Maj r 23 : —"Wool is in moderate competion on French account, but the Home trade is purchasing sparingly. Seventy-nine thousand bales were sold to-day. The tallow market is quiet, with no speculative demand: The prices are—Beef, 425.; mutton, 445. The wheat market is ; quiet. Adelaide is worth 695. per 4091b.; ISTcw Zealand, 60s. The leather market is easier ; best side, Hid.
