UNTIMELY END.

This morning Thomas Brown, a prisoner on remand for stealing watches from Duncan's store, hanged himself in the <raol. The act was a most deliberate one. He took the opportunity of breakfast time to remain behind in the cell for a few minutes, when he got a piece of rope used to tie up the bedding, fixed it over the door, got on a foot-stool, took off his boots, kicked the stool away, and five minutes afterwards, the warder missing him, went in search and found him dead_ An inquest will be held to-morrow.
