An effort is being made to form a company, to be called the Wellington and Mohikanui Coal Mining Company. The nominal capital is set down at L 30,000 in 30,000 shares. The promoters have secured a prospectors' license for over 5,000 acres, with the option of taking up two square miles within six months on lease for 21 years. The head quarters of the company is to be at Wellington, and

the object of the company is to work a coalfield on the southern side of the Mt>hikanui river.
