A QUEER CASE.

Dunedin, May 18.

An inquest commenced this afternoon into the death cf Margaret M'lntyre, agecl 17. She has been employed as a Servant in the family of Mrs. G. F. Reid. The evidence of the girl's parents showed that the girl was in good health, when she entered Mrs. Reid's service, and that when they visited her a few hours before her death, she was lying on a mattrass, in a very neglected condition. They stato that Mrs. Reid offered them first LS00» and afterwards L2OOO, to say nothing about the matter. Messrs. Stout and Gillies were watching the investigation 011 behalf of Mrs. Reid, and will seek to establish that the girl died from diarrheal.
