NORTH OTAGO TURF CLUB.

A special meeting of the Committee of this Club was held yesterday afternoon at the Empire Hotel. Present : Messrs. Grant (in the chair), Robertson, Shalders, Ronayne, Dooley, Lintott, and Greenfield (Secretary). The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. FINANCIAL. A number of accounts were brought before the meeting, but the hon. treasurer (Mr. F. Robertson) having reported that the funds were very short, a SubCommittee, consisting of Messrs. Grant and Lintott, with the Secretary, was appointed to wait on the Trustees of the Racecourse, and ask them to vote a sum to the funds of the Club, in order to enable to pay off all outstanding liabilities. THE STEEPLECHASE. A letter was read from the Steeplechase Club, asking for permission to use the Turf' Club's° saddling and baiting paddocks on the occasion of the forthcoming Steeplechase Meeting. Mr. Robertson moved, " That the Steeplechase Club pay Lls to the IS T orth ! Otago Turf Club for the use of the saddling and baiting paddocks on the 24th May ; the money to be paid' prior to that date." Mr. Lintott seconded the motion. Mr. Rona\ne moved as an amendment, " That the sum be L 10." Mr. Shaldeks seconded the amendment. On the question, being put, the amendment was carried on the casting vote of the Chairman. A vote of thanks to the Chairman terminated the proceedings.
