(From the Press Agency.) «. PROSECUTION OF HOSTILITIES. BRITISH SQUADRON UNDER ORDERS. <*> London, May 13. [Received at Sydney after midnight on the 14th.] The Roumanian Chamber has passed a resolution to authorise the securing of independence. The Roumanian accounts of the battle of Reni are not yet confirmed. The Russian batteries at Ibrailia sunk a Turkish ironclad, with 200 men on board. Official despatches state that the Russian troops have arrived at Dadin. Turkish official accounts state that the I Russian Army Corps unsuccessfully attacked the intrenchments near Batoum, and were repulsed with the loss of forty thousand men. The British Squadron has been ordered to Port Said. ♦ Bombay, May 13. GREAT EARTHQUAKE. Iqueque, on the west coast of South America, has been destroyed by an earthquake . GLADSTONE'S RESOLUTIONS. The debate on Mr. Gladstone's resolution is still continued. A majority of the Conservatives go with the Whigs for neutrality. The Liberals are divided, some favoring dismemberment of Turkey, and others disagree with Mr. Gladstone.
