The National Insurance Company profits for the past half year amounted ti £23,571, of which sum £15,000 have been carried to the reinsurance fund, and! dividend of 10 per cent., with a bonus oi sixpence per share declared. DISAPPOINTMENT. The people of Milton had made great preparations to receive the Governor, who promised to stay there a quarter of at hour, instead of which, to the Miltonians' chagrin, the train dashed past the statior at the rate of thirty miles an hour. RAILWAY COLLISION. A collision occurred on the railway line yesterday evening at Milton, one of the trains being knocked off the line, but no serious damage done. THE TEREMAKAU RUSH. A new goldfield is being rapidly developed at the North Teremakau, which is likely to rival the Kumara. The Star's correspondent at Uokitika says that the latest accounts are very exciting, and that hundreds are leaving the Kumara for the new field. The prospects obtained are half an ounce to the load.
