Mix a tablespoonful of the extract with half a tumbler of cold water, and keep a cloth constantly w r et with the lotion thus made applied to the part affected for several hours. Pains in the Side, Back, &c. The same lotion can be applied; but the better way is to use the extract as a Liniment, rubbing it thoroughly with the hand or a piece of coarse flannel.
