Duke din, April 2.

The Lawrence Railway extension was opened to-day with great eclat. There is splendid weather for the holiday, which is general.

The Lawrence Railway was publicly opened to-day. A special train left here at 9 o'clock, and reached Lawrence at 12.40 p.m., or five minutes behind the appointed hour. A high holiday has been observed in Lawrence. At the plat 0. - m there were 200 schorl children, under th i leadership of Mr. Edward Towsey, ai.d assisted by the Lawrence brass band. The children sang Bracken's national hymn. Mr. Bastings declared the line formally opened for traffic, and an adjournment was made to the Town Hall, where luncheon was provided.
