TUAPEKA RAILWAY.

The ballasting of the luapeka line will probably be finished to-morrow (Tuesday). If the line is opened it will induce a large crowd to visit Dunedin and see the Cup run for. There seems to be some nrystery as to when the line will be opened—some motive power behind the scene, with influence against the unanimous will of the district. There seems to be no earthly reason why it should not be opened, as a special train, with passengers and trucks, arrived at the Lawrence Station so far back as Thursday lash. A crowd assembled to meet them, and the actual opening of the line was then an accomplished fact.
