THE DUNEDIN MILLERS.

Tie Guardian of to-day contains the following kit; r and footnote : TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —It was not our intention to have further noticed your editorial remarks upon the flour trade, and the arrangements made in reference to same by the millers of Dunedin ; but inasmuch as you further quote from the existing document in this morning's issue, we feel obliged to revert to the subject. We again assert that the document, or a copy of it, Las been shown to yon improperly, by one who must have made the copy fov some such underhand purpose as that to which it has been put ; and we have to request, that you will furnish us with the name of the person from whom you received it.— We are, Sir, yours, -V:c., The Authors of the Circular. [Our correspondents must surely know that by all rules of journalistic etiquette we are absolutely precluded from giving the names our informants on any subject. If we could, and it were any benefit to our correspondents, we would have the greatest pleasure in obliging them. But surely they would not have us violate all honour, and commit what in journalism is the unpardonable sin. So far as the public are concerned, it is sufficient for them to know that the words we have quoted are the words of the veritable compact, a fact which our correspondents did not even pretend to deny. Besides, if it only referred to the "sacks," the millers need feel no annoyance at the " existing document " having been made public—En. 0. G.] ■» (From the Evening Star Correspond fits.)
