At a meeting of the Board yesterday afternoon, the following members were present:—Messrs. Sumpter (in the chair), Meek, Shrimski, Gilchrist, Menlove, Steward, Headland, Reid, and Borrie,
REPORT OF STANDING COMMITTBE. After the minutes of last meeting had been read and confirmed, The Secretary read the report of the Standing Committee, which \rxs as follows :
"Your Committee recommend to the. Board the advisability of reducing the charge upon general merchandiseyto 4s. 6d. per ton, coals to 4s. 3d. per tdn, and . timber to Is. Id. per 100 feet super; a""; further reduction to be made in the boating staff as soon as practicable,"
