OTEPOPO ROAD BOARD.
The monthly meeting of this Board was , held on Friday, 26th January, 1877. Present: Messrs. Anderson (Chairman), Henderson (Treasurer), M'Donald, Ross, Newlands, Morton, Watson, Riddell, and Mitchell. Mr. M'Donald proposed, and Mr. Riddell seconded, that the minutes of last meeting be adopted as read. The correspondence was read and approved. The agents of the N.Z. and A. Land Company wrote, requesting that £SO, granted to the late Allday Local Board should be refunded. On the motion of Mr. Riddell, seconded by Mr. Ross, Mie request was acceded to. Mr. J. Bathgate wrote, requesting details of sections in Kakanui South ; the Clerk was instrucbed to draw his attention, to the various clauses of the Acts affecting the same. A letter from Messrs. Fa'c ;ner and M'Kenzie was read with inference to the repairs of the road between sections 2, 3, 4, 5, and 18, 19, 20, 21, Block IV. Mr. Mitchell proposed, and Mr. M'Donald seconded, that £4O be voted for it. Carried. The Committee appointed to seer r i a temporary Fever Hospital reported that tl;ey lad leased a house from Mr. Henderson for six months for £lO.
On the motion of Mr. M'DonaU, seconded by Mr. Riddell, the Clerk was appointed to represent the Board at the Assessment Court.
The Clerk was directed to acquaint the Kakanui Board that the action of the Sub-Committee, in reference to the Pound at Maheno, had been approved of by the Board.
Only one tender for Contract 47 was received, and being in excess of the Engineer's estimate, it was not accepted. Several accounts were passed for payment, and the Board adjourned.
