A meeting of the Horticultural Society w.v; held last evening at eight o'clock, in the Alston Rouse, Mr. Leruo-* in the eha:r. There were also present >[TiU. M'Laren, Clydesdale, Paterson. Hartley. Earle, Main, and Falconer. The following resolution was proposed by Mr. Spratt. seconded by Mr. Fred. Earte. and carved unanimously :-" That it having come to the knowledge of the Committee that Mr. »i. W Draper exhibited roses and rhubarb at the lata Show, for which he was awarded prizes. anil which were not of his own crowth. it n resolved that Mr. Draper be prohibited from exhibiting at any show of the Society until he proves to the satisfaction of the Committee that the roses an<t rhubarb so exhibited by him wore of his own growth." The- following resolutions were alio proposed :By Mr. Sprat t, seconded by Mr. Hartley—" That the holders of the largest number of prizes for fruit, vegetable, pot plants, ami cut flowers, entitled to receive certificates shall have them frame, I and glazed:" by Mr. Falconer, seconded by Mr. Paterson—-"That a sub-committee, consisting of Messrs. Spratt, Simpson. Paterson. and the mover, be convened, to revise the prize-Kst. and report at the next meeting.' Although accounts to the amount of over £3S were paid last night, and making allowance forth* settlement of one or two ,-imall sums yet to be sent in, it is calculated that when ail liabilities are met, tiisro wilt stilt remain a balance in hand of some £ls. No quorums seem to he the order of the day. Last night the Municipal Council meeting lapsed for want of a quorum, »ts Worship the Mayor and Councillor Main.'and being the only representatives putting in mi appearance.
