Pertobe is a dark bay horse, seven years old, standing 15 hands 3 inches high, with great length, substance, and quality, and was one of the fastest horses that ever raced in Victoria. The fact that lie has got Pantaloon blood in his veins is a great recommendation, for it is questionable if better Hows in any animal's. The very best runners and the grandest specimen* of the thoroughbred are descended from Pantaloon, whose blood cannot be excelled. The value of Pantaloon blood is undeniable, having furnished so many proofs not idone as to speed and staying, i,ut also as a running straiu, for although some others occasionally produce one or two lirst-class animals, still few can compete with that in question a3 to number. For high breeding, g'>od true lac.ng action, honesty and gameucss, with speed oi remarkable brilliancy, Pertobe has no equal, and '1 horoUjjhbred Mares put to him should breed good racehorses.
