OTEPOPO ROAD BOARD.
A meeting of this Boaru was held on Friday, December Bth, 1876. PresentMessrs. Anderson (chairman), M'Donald, Morton, Darroeh, Newlands, Mitchell, and Russell. The minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed. A letter was read intimating the acceptance, by the Kakanui Board, of the terms offered by this Board for the erection of a Pound, at Maheno, and stating that Messrs. Gemmell and Wheatley had been appointed to make arrangements with a sub-committee of this Board for* a suitable site. Messrs. JSewlands and Mitchell were appointed to represent this Board. Mrs. Cameron wrote, asking that a hill on the road to her property should be removed. The Allday members were requested to report on the matter at next meeting. Mr. Dabeoch moved, and Mr. Russell seconded, that a recommendation of Mr. Henderson, re expenditure on road to railway station, be not entertained for the present, and that the Sydney members xeport on it at the next meeting. It was agreed that Messrs. Anderson, M'Donald, and Darroch be appointed with power to lease a house for a temporary fever Hospital; annual rental not to exceed £ls. The following tenders for the office of Valuator, were opened : —M. Newsham, £2O; "William Marshall, £2O; Robert Simmers, £lB. Mr. Moeton proposed, and Mr. Newlands seconded, that the lowest tender be accepted. Tne balance on Contract 46a was ordered to be paid. The Clerk was instructed to call the next meeting when necessary. Several accounts were passed for payment, and the Board adjourned.
