BULGARIAN ATROCITIES.

on the mseting fast night the Stetr says :—" The enthusiasm displayed did honor to Dancdin, and it is to be hoped will prove the first wave of a movement of sympathy with the sufferers from Turkish outrages in Bulgaria, which will pass over the whole of Australia. TUose who have asked, and many have done so, what good end cottltl be served by a meeting of this sort, were wcit answered by the various speakers. As citizens' ©f a mighty Empire which has played a distinguished part in \indicating human rights as fellow Christians, and on the broad grounds of humanity it is the duty of the people of this Colony to let their voice be heard amidst universal chorus of indignation pealing from the civilised world at the treatment which the Bulgarians have recently been receiving from their Turkish oppressors. Great Britain has of cottrsj vast interests at stake in this matter in the awakening of a Holy War and setting of Christian against Mahometan. Therefore it behoves the Imperial Government to ke cautions in its movements, and its conduct in this respect is not blameworthy. The feeling of the people at Home lias been displayed unniialakeably, and if the enthusiasm of those who took part in last night's meeting sprang from genuine sympathy, they should now be prepared to place their hands in their pockets.
