Mix a tablespoonful of the extract with half a tumbler of cold water, and keep a clotij constantly wet with the lotion thus made applied to the part affected for several hours. Pains in the Side, Back, &c. The same lotion can be applied ; but tht better way is to use the extract as a Liniment, rubbing it thoroughly with the hand or a piece of coarse flannel.
