THE HIBERNICON SQUABBLE.
TO THE ELTTOR OF THE EVENING MAIL. Sir, —I have been .credibly informed that a certain member of the Oamaru Dramatic Club has publicly attributed to my pen the letters signed " Magguffin " and the local referring to this matter in your paper. I desire, therefore, to disabuse the minds of the other members of the Club, for whose information I say that I have never writte7i a letter under the above nom de plume, nor had I directly nor indirectly any hand in the correspondence. And further, Sir, I give you permission to lay before the Club, or any member of it, all communications received by you from me since the first publication of The Evening Mail. If this is not satisfactory, perhaps the "certain member " above referred to had better wait on me privately, when I shall be most happy to afford him such explanation, comfort, and consolation as may be compatible with the circumstances.—l am, &c, J. O'Meagher.
