HOME-COMING OF THE PRINCE OF WALES.

[ Writing from London on the 12fch May, i the special correspondent of the " Argus " ! says :—" The Prince of Wales readied ; Home safely yesterday after Ids Indian tour, and was received with a cordial welcome which, though it fell short of the magnificent pageanis to which he lias become accustomed, was probably far move acceptable to him. The visit to Madrid | was a success, and not less so the visit to Lisbon, from which port the Serapis . steamed steadily homeward. The Prince , was met ofl' the Isle of Wight by the Princess of Wales and their children. At Spithead, the ships of Avar thundered forth their salute. At Portsmouth, an address ; was presented, and Sir Jules Benedict led the welcoming voices of a festive choir. The streets of the old town were lined with decorations, and with acclaiming crowds. Every station along the railway was crowded. At Westminster, the burgesses presented another address, and the route thence to .Buckingham Palace was similarly ornamented and thronged. At the palace the Prince was received by the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, and other members of the Royal Family. At a later j hour he proceeded to Marlborough-house, ( and in the evening appeared by arrangement at the Opera-house with the Princess . and his boys, and there received the plaudits of aristocratic England. No conqueror could have desired heartier recognition, and it must be said that the Prince comes back standing higher in the respect of most Englishmen for the admirable qualities he has displayed in his long and arduous tour. .
