The following races were run after we went to press yesterday :
Reidston Handicap, of 25 soys, with a sweepstake of £1 Is., to go to the second horse. Distance, three times round the course ; entry, £2 2s. Hector (Robinson) ... ... 1 Kathleen (W. M'Kay, jnn.) ... 2 Ranibleaway (Allan) ... ... 3 Sir William and Wild' Rose were scratchedRanibleaway and Kathleen got awav with the lead, closely followed by Hector. On entering the straight the latter rushed to the front, juhl won a most exciting race by half a length. Cheroot Scukky, of £5. Distance, once round ; no weight under ten stone ; each rider to start with a lighted cigar in his mouth, and hand the same cigar—still alight—to the Clerk of the Course at the iimsli of the race ; any rider failing to do so, his horse shall be declared distanced. Hector (M'Gregor) ... ... 1 Reidstox Cut, a handicap of 20. sovs., with a sweepstake of £1 Is. each*o go to the second horse. Distance, twice round the course ; the winner of the Reidstou Handicap to carry a penalty of seven pounds. Entry, £1 10s. A splendid Mounted Biding Whip to be presented by a 'Lady to the winner of the Cup. Wild Rose, 5 yrs, 7st Sib (Allan) 1 Sir William, Bst 121b (M'Gregor) 2 Lyndon, Kathleen, and Ranibleaway were scratched. Sir William took the lead, which he kept till within a quarter of a mile from home. On rounding-the turn Wild Rose came away, and won, hands down, by about a dozen lengths. .
Selling Hack Hack, of 10 sovs. The winner to be sold for 10 sovereigns immediately after the race ; any surplus to go to the race funds. Distance, once round ; catch weight?. Cocky Bobby (Allan) ... ... 1 Five started. After taking the first flight, Bob collided with a cow on the course, which he endeavoured 'to jump over. _ He failed, and Bob, his rider, and cow all kissed mother earth together. Balaam bolted oft the course. Bobby won by six lengths. A Bullock Drivers' axd Station Hands' Rack, for a New Rifling Saddle. Sultana (-T. Gray)... r , -X Six started. Sultana' won in a canter. Consolation Handicap, of 10 sovs.; for ail horses beaten during the meeting. Distance, once round. " Kathleen (owner) ... ... ••• 1 This race was run in the dark. Kathleen won ear- 1 -"- by four lengths...•
