Nelson's Victory Appeals f
, (From "N.Z. Truth's" South Island | Trotting Rep.) | THE Gore Trotting Cup Handicap, to ■*■ be decided on Boxing Day is never an easy race to win, and as usual there is a good class of performer engaged. When the handicaps are analysed Nelson's Victory stands out as a nicely placed candidate. As a three-year-old, this fellow went 2.15 2-5, and won easily after being slow away, and m his only start over two miles finished fourth after breaking up at the start. Another consistent performer is Satin King, but he has not been so favorably treated, so, good as he is, two others m Black Lion and Erin's Boy should test him thoroughly. Tarndale and Sunchild, on the back, are good, but the improving horses m front will find more favor. It >is hard to desert Satin King, but Erin's Boy and Black Lion^may be most trouble to Nelson's Victory. The second leg is the 2.55 class Final Handicap, and m this race Erin's Boy seems to stand out of the \limit lot, for on three occasions he has registered better than 3.28 for one and a-half milea.
