THE MIRROR OF TRUTH

His Only Hobby

IT is si^cty years ago since Robert Robertson Menzies, popularly known m Auckland as "Bob," left his native Glasgow, and half-a-century since he became an employer of men. Originally trained to engineering, he to-day manages the affairs of Grey and Menzies, aerated water manufacturers. He spent many years at Thames, wherfc m turn he became a borough councillor, superintendent of the local fire brigade, sole Rugby selector, and chairman of the ■ Thames Racing Club. To his enterprise and ability, Thames mainly owes its fine hospital. A confirmed optimist as regards the future prosperity of N.Z., "Bob" has only one hobby — -and that's work!
