When the Sub-Inspector asked Gill if it were a fact that he had taken all responsibility, the man replied that he had done so before he knew of the other man. When Gill, left the. box the magistrate reminded Mr. Hunter that Gill had admitted his responsibility m the letter that was handed into court. "Oh, well, he didn't know fhe position then," counsel claimed. The bench, however, intimated that an order would have to be made against the man, and Mr. Hunter added, "He's tied himself up pretty well, arid I tola" him so." An affiliation order was made against Gill, and he was further ordered to pay 10/- maintenance and 2/6 a week off the past maintenance, which amounted to £6/15/-.
