N c w spapers, shipping, gas, and racing are among the wide range of subjects that comes within his province. It is seventy years . ago since the first George Gould arrived m Christchurch and ever since thc name of Gould has been prominent m commercial circles. The present George Gould, a Chust College old boy, received part ol his education m England, and he's ever got the welfare of Christchurch at heart. Just now his hopes are centring around Cathedral Square, where he eagerly anticipates the erection of the War Memorial for which he has battled for eleven years.
