"Cinder Shifters" For Kilbirnie

W7ITH champion "cinder shifters" from " three countries competing at Kilbirnie Stadium on Saturday night next, there are likely to be more thrills to the hour than there are minutes. Two members of the British Speedway Test Team, Jim Kempster ancl Norman Evan's, are to make their first appearance on New Zealand tracks, while Hilary Buchanan and Lyn. Hale, Australian riders who have been cleaning things up m Auckland recently, will also .be seen for the first time m • Wellington. Resides these imported "cracks." Wally Kilmister, the Dominion champion, who has made a name for himself m England, and several of the city's leading riders, will be competitors. Racing of a class which never before has been experienced m New Zealand should be witnessed, and . this is to be made more interesting by the holding of Teams Racing, an innovation which has been received favorably by the public. Jim Kempster, who captained the English Test team, is to lead one of the sides, while Kilmister is to lead the other. Evans, • the two - Aussies, Reg. Ranby, who has had experience of dirt track racing m England, and Stan Palmer, will follow Kempster, -while TimWilkinson, Clarrie Tonks and other notable local riders will help Kilmister to pile up thc points.
