A HOT COMBINATION

BROUGHAM HILL LADIES ARE ALL CHAMPIONS (From "N.Z. Truth's" Wellington Rep.) ALL evidence m Wellington tennis is ** that Brougham Hill will once more capture the senior championship. Once again the ladies are carrying- them through, but there are some sound players amongst the men. D. G. France, LenJFrance, T. S. Williams and S. Moore, are four who will carry the banner this season, and though Williams and Moore have both suffered defeat, ,they have not yet met anything hard enough to dispose of both of them. They are already past Thorndon, the hardest team next to Brougham Hill, and have beaten Varsity, so that their next match is with the easy Newtown side. The wealth of talent at Brougham Hill is almost unbelievable. The ladies are Miss Dunclie Nicholls, national singles champion, Mrs. R. P, Adams, past national singles and doubles champion, Mrs. Thomson, present national mixed champion and past doubles title-holder, and Misses North and Howe, both of whom have been m the Wellington team before to-day and have held' provincial titles. Yet only four of these can get' in. In addition there is Miss M. Williams, who is good enough to extend any player of provincial standing and a rare fighter. With this array of girls, there is no chance of any Wellington ladies' team menacing' the leaders.
