DOTH City and Marist senior Auckland teams are going to be hard hit by some of their cracks going to Australia, and this should give the, Ponies and Shore a great chance to even up the .competition. With two old heads like Delgrosso and Scott about, It would make a difference.
Only the shrewd defence of Cal. Dufty and "Pip" Webb saved Ellerslie from a real thrashing at the hands of Richmond on Saturday. At the same time, "Duf." Is not as slick as he used to be, and he was miles away when Patterson loped across for his second try.
The way things are shaping, It looks as if Ponsonby will make its big effort to climb the competition ladder when the team is away m Australia. Its team Is practically intact, and if. Deigrosso, Rally and Skelton can keep fit, the Ponies will make them all step lively,
