J. Elliott (Auckland), sprinter and W. J. Savidan (Auckland), distance runner. R. O. Johnston (Otago), hop, step and jumper. Of this quartet Lay would seem to have the rosiest chance of success. He holds both the half-mile and mile titles. -Miss Pldgeon Is a breast stroke specialist and holds several New Zealand records for this style of-separ-ating water. ,. , . Calder is a diver and. is ' guaranteed by his' supporters to be able to hit the briny with less fuss and more precision than any other ~ living New Zealander. • The party* will be under the care of; a rowing - coach and a business manager who is -Mr. Hobbs. an old rowing enthusiast, from Cnristchurch. •
