REP. TEAM POOR
Will Bite Dust Before Taranaki Fifteen (From "N.Z. Truth's" Wanganui. Rep.) WIITU. the first round of the competition "completed, Kaierau are still at the head of affairs, closely followed by Technical Old Boys, Pirates and Marists. The latter team has a great battler m Mclntyre. He is m the veteran stage, but shows excellent/ form and ' is more than a match for some of the Wanganui \ rep. players. : - • ■•' • " : Technical backs were too speedy for Marist on Saturday and rattled on 1i points -before Marist realised what was' happening.. E. Reid was m great goalkicking form. •.- ■ .. . ! ■ Cup matches will be suspended next Saturday owing to the visit of the Taranaki team. The B grade team goes to Hawera. On the selection it looks as if a better job has been made of picking the B team than the main one. The selectors have still clung to Thompson .as, 'full-back instead of giving Hekenui a chance.' ■ ... "Mick" Darby, who is still the best tackier m Wanganui, has been overlook- I cd. , .. . . .. ■ It is pleasing to note that Lowe has been given a chance. He has shown j good form m club games. j Vangioni is a!so playing below form, and has done nothing at all since he i*eturned to Wanganui. Delves, on his performance on Sat- . urday, was also not worthy 'of a place m the reps. He mulled badly. The prospects are that Wanganui is m for another real good beating by the ambcr-and -blacks.
