Farcical Position
WELLINGTON defeated Poirirua fay the cricket score of -79 points to - nil m the B< grade. This great victory was more or less antjcipated, and- "Truth" has already suggested that the Wellington Union will have to get m early and bring Johnson, Kilby, Page and Co. back into the senior A. ■ , , - • > It is farcical to allow the present position .to remain. The three players above mentioned- are internationals, and It Is most unfair to the other teams m the B grade to expect them to show to •advantage against thii combination. * "Truth. is of the opinion that before the' season progresses far the Union will be forced to promote this team and considers that the general criticism relative to its non-promotion is justified. .It Is not fair to the B graders to . battle' against such- a side as at present constituted, and the sooner the ■ Union 'settles the matter'' by promotion the better it will be. • Wellington B, after Its display against Porirua last Saturday, and including as it does a trio of internationals and others of playing calibre, would play ' ■ a prominent part m the senior A grade. » At time of writing the Union has . not considered it necessary to change its mind, but it is only a .matter of time . before the B grade will be spoiled, and then Wellington told to step up.
